NEW MUSIC FILM CONCEPT
FjŌRLo
Filmed between the organic lines of California’s organic rock formations and juxtaposed with the geometric lines of the busy city, FJORLO will be filmed and post-produced to take place all in the night, with the light of the moon playing a narrative role in finding beauty in all things it light shines on. Our character(s) will find themselves and the clothes they wear also juxtaposed between the confined and clean ways of the city (rigid outfits and city lights) and the freedoms in the organic lines of nature (loose One Golden Tread flowing attire) to create a tension and release narrative that resolves in seeing the beauty in all things. A projector will be used to illuminate the cityscapes against the organic lines of our character’s body and the rock formations of Joshua Tree as if we are in a dystopian future of rock and sand looking back at reflections of our concrete jungles.
“she’s heavy like the moon”
This lyric from our FjŌRLo track will weigh into the story arc of our main characters. They will walk between two worlds, the geometric city and the organics of nature. This comfort and discomfort will create a struggle to overcome. But in the end, we will see that there is beauty in both.
beauty & tone
Playing with the beauty of skin tones allows us to make our characters juxtaposed not only in landscape contrast but also in clothing and skin tone contrast. As day is to night, night is to day. A harmony and balance of all things creates our reality, one reprieves the other and gives it perspective.
textile & stone
Not only will clothing play a part into how the characters feels and moves with the clothing, but also using the textiles of “clothing” to create shapes instead of it just being fashion. Here is where we can take the fabrics of One Golden Thread and show them to also be ways to transition into landscapes. We live in our clothing in the present but they can also transport us somewhere else with how it makes us feel. Our bodies are the landscapes we carry with us.
URBAN PROJECTIONS
Juxtaposed in contrast to the organic nature of the Joshua tree boulders, we will be projecting onto our characters scenes of the city, the news, and a past that brought us to the desolate desert to reflect.
wear the feeling
This will be a somewhat narrative concept. But like our music there will be moments of abstract beauty for the eyes to rest in and to build curiosity so that the viewer can interpret this into how THEY feel about the ideas, places, and feelings that are conjured up for them. The band, SONŌf, is not only made up of musicians, but also film makers so so you will see the sounds from the artists themselves, and in this film, in collaboration with One Golden Thread, you will be able to wear the feeling as well.
